At dinner last night we learned about a new travel opportunity and today we spent a good portion of the day taking care of the details..."Carpe Diem". Since we are having such a great time we have extended our trip another three weeks or so in order to take a cruise from Valparaiso, Chile to Boston.
That's right we will stay in Buenos Aires a few extra days in April then fly to Santiago, Chile ... take a short drive to Valparaiso, where we will pick up our boat...a Norwegian Cruise liner which will depart for Boston via a number of Chilean ports, Lima Peru, then through the Panama Canal to Costa Rica, key West and finally home to Boston. 18 days on the high seas (well hopefully not high, but smooth).
Our Itinerary:
Day 1 -Valparaiso, Chile
Day 2 - Coquimbo, Chile,
Day 3 - At Sea
Day 4 - Iquique, Chile
Day 5 - Arica, Chile
Day 6 - At Sea
Day 7 - Lima (Callao), Peru
Day 8 - At Sea
Day 9 - Cross The Equator
Day 10 - At Sea
Day 11 - Daylight Transit Of The Panama Canal
Day 12 - Puerto Limon, Costa Rica
Day 13 - At Sea
Day 14 - At Sea
Day 15 - Key West, Fl
Day 16 - 18 At Sea
Day 19 - Boston,
Well, as you can see our current way of life is wonderfully flexible. We'll be posting more in the next couple of days before we leave for Patagonia on Friday.
Buenas Noches.

Hi Guys, Sounds like you're having a fantastic time. We finally made the move to Germany. We'll have to work hard to be having as much fun as you guys are.
Regards,
Brian
Sounds fantastic. Will you be able to communicate with us from the ship? I presume so.
Barbara - you have to admit - this beats MIT. Hope your need to work has totally disappeared. My need has just reading about your travels, which is too bad for MIT and for me, since I'm still on the payroll.
I was thinking this morning, you'll be back just in time to plant your garden!

Sounds like a great adventure. I am now looking forward to my trip toBA. Too bad you will not be there. David, how are you going to manage being on the ship for 19 days?
Debbie
